TV satirist Chris Morris returns
Chris Morris, creator of the controversial Brass Eye programmes, is to
return to Channel 4 in a new series.
"We are working with Chris Morris on a long-term project," a Channel 4
spokesman confirmed on Thursday.
He is working with Charlie Brooker, co-creator of satirical website
TVGoHome, on a new format, re****ted the Media Guardian website.
An episode of Brass Eye which satirised media handling of paedophilia
sparked a record 2,500 complaints in 2001.
Channel 4 would not reveal the format of Chris Morris' new series or
its expected broadcast date.
Pilot
However Mr Brooker, who also worked with Morris on Brass Eye, told the
Guardian that the new series was likely to move away from the spoof
news and current affairs format.
"It's got narrative elements," he said. "It's probably not going to be
quite what people would expect."
A pilot for the series, to be made by independent TV producer Talkback
and TVGoHome company Zeppotron, was re****tedly shot last summer.
Chris Morris appeared on BBC Radio 4 series On The Hour and BBC Two's
The Day Today before writing Channel 4's Brass Eye and late night
Radio One series Blue Jam.
