Do you like radio comedy?

by "Futility Radio" <contact@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 8, 2004 at 05:18 PM

Do you remember stuff like "The Mary Whitehouse Experience" or "Lee and
Herrings Fist of Fun?" Or "On The Hour"?

If you did, you might like "Futility Writ Big".

FWB is an Amateur British series, produced by fans of this kind of show.
It
is topical, crude, filthy, irreverant humour, produced monthly and
broadcast
on Live 365.

WHAT KIND OF MATERIAL IS IT?
----------------------------------------
This months epsiode, which first went out on Wednesday, 4th February, is
called "The Illusion of Liberty" and there is a lot of material on the
Hutton Re****t, the death of Doctor Harold ****pman, and many other things.
The new episode goes out every night at 9pm GMT, 9pm Pacific Time, 8pm
Eastern Time and there is also a broadcast 9pm Sydney Time. There have
been
a total of 9 episodes so far, and we are into our second series.

We are getting steady ratings, but I have never before tried to publicise
the show before - the people that have found it have done so by accident.

To listen, go to www.live365.com and become a member. (It's free, and
there
are lots of great stations hosted on the site). Once you are logged on,
search by station name for a station called futility_radio, press the play
button and away you go!

We have had a couple of sup****tive emails, but I would love to get some
more
feedback from listeners. So, please listen to the show (episodes start at
the top of the hour and last for about 30 mins) and even more im****tantly,
please give me some feedback. Leave a message here, or email me on:

mailto: feedback@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
we have a (very slow, sorry) website at:
http://www.futilitywritbig.co.uk
in which there is a link which you can
reach me on.

Episodes so far:

Series One:
1) The Beginning of the End (February 2003)
In which we catch up on world events since 911, the
Tellytubbies
join the global coalition against terror, and a cure is found for
anthrax...
in Tinky Winky.
2) The March of War (March 2003)
About the War in Iraq. The French learn to overuse the word
"Vito" and a suicidal soldier realises the only way to ensure he dies is
to
dress up as a British Troop and stand in front of some
Americans...
3) The Consequences of Denial (April 2003)
SARS threatens to destroy the world and we finally see THAT
episode of who wants to be a milllionnaire. One of the presenters dies of
Sars live on air, and the remaining presenter arranges
some
female company for himself (and discovers that it is better with no
teeth).
4) The Carcass of Britain (May 2003)
England starts to fall apart. A woman is left to die in her
crushed car in an accident because she cannot find her credit card to pay
the emergency services, and we discover that the pinnacle of
British TV is Big Brother 4...
5) A Bunch of Twats (June 2003)
The police let a "comedy terrorist" into Prince Williams 21st
birthday party, and we take a leaf from the government and *** up some
literature, including "The Lord of the Rings" (which was
a
book first, you know).
6) The Death of Truth (July 2003)
Doctor David Kelly kills himself (we reveal why) and we enjoy
National Foreplay day and National Orgasm day in way that you only can on
radio...

Series Two:
1) Bombs and Buggery (November 2003)
In which a famous pop star is accused of some naughty things,
and the WI discover that they have got the contract to dismantle the
"death
****ps" from the US Navy...
2) The Might of the Land of the Free (December 2003)
Saddam Hussein is captured (Benny Hill style) and we learn of
the new marketing category: Mextro***ual Man...
3) The Illusion of Liberty (January 2003)
We find out just how free we are when MI5 storm the studio in
the wake of the Hutton Re****t and we are transformed into "The Lovely
Show..."

Finally, for anyone who had read this far, we are hoping to involve more
people in this show - whether we have additional writers, or people
recording dialogue for us... if you think you have something to offer,
bloody well get in touch. Or else.
