I took it upon myself to do this a few days ago. I'll admit, the DVD cover
now looks awful, but there's something strangely satisfying about ripping
cardboard which you know shoudln't be ripped...as for the text, I've tried
my best to read what it says but the handwriting resembles that on the
inside front cover. Anyway, here's my interpretation:
That gun thing when I didn't know what it was = arrested in zoo //
arrested
for being clutter // smoking dope on tube (I thought they were turning a
blind eye) // trying to beat up a poster // cement in bath.
(37) broke harry's bib off
(38) shot old woman with airgun
(39) freid Stephanie's hand (accident)
(40) I locked myself in school gas chamber (I think) // 41
41 Read 807 books out loud to crying infants // tried to look through Mrs
Muldbing's cheek // 43. Frequently no pants
// 44 46 // Blew up rat coffin // 47 Smoked dried banana skins. 48 Gerbil
thing (Not my fault). 49. Sent out of class for ebing sullen and indolent
but I wasn't so I ambushed teacher with pencil sharpenings in face and was
sent home but IT STILL WASN'T MY FAULT although everyone said it was
(50) Shat in swimming pool, 51 laughed at
****d statue #52
Pinned up dad's **** in kitchen
52 Secong gerbil thing (53) Talking + Rude - mum cried.
As you can see, the text provides more of a background to 'Him' and allows
us to treat the short film as a character study as well as a black
comedy. And even if you don't want to look into it that much, confessions
such as "tried to look through Mrs Muldbing's cheek" and "ambushed teacher
with pencil sharpenings in face" are quite difficult not to laugh at.
