I've never heard of anything like that actually working.  The signal 
coming down from the satellites is VERY weak, and at a frequency far 
removed from visible light, AND to get the full complement of DirecTV 
channels, you've actually got to be "looking at" three different 
locations in the sky (or five if you want HD service).  I suspect the 
mirror would do little more than reflect sunlight into people's eyes.
