For Amy, the person I was discussing earlier in the thread, I was
ready at T+2 months.  Amy was someone Wendy had known and would
approve of.  By the time that I was pursuing Emelie at T+6 months, I
was ready even without that implicit approval.  I made a number of
attempts at Amy over the next year and a half, but accepted her
statement that she would likely never be ready.  The post that
launched this thread was Amy's commentary that she'd tried to push
this other guy away but he persisted pu****ng till she discovered she
needed him.  That description bothered me and still does.

The ability to move on depends, to a large degree, on a letter.  "If I
don't make it through this, I want you to move on to a life that will
make you happy."  Without that command, it could have taken years to
move on.  But now it has been years -- I'd be ready even without the
command.

The reason I'm still single after declaring myself "ready" has more to
do with rediscovering who I was in the eighties, than to "mourning."
The eighties were not kind to me.

I use the term "concrete".  When I say that my thinking is very
"concrete", I'm not talking about the contents of my skull.
