I personally like the "aught-five" form.

However, instead of "two thousand and seven", I say "two thousand
seven".  Usage of the "and" says geezer to me. (think Gabby Hayes).

"It wuz back in nineteen and forty-nine when these ole eyes first saw
the light of day".
