This is the defeatist attitute I meant when I said, "Most people don't
know how to go back to over-the-air".  I don't claim to have all the
answers, but if you don't even try, they you're doomed to failure.

When I lived in an apartment 35 years ago, I had good TV reception.
You may not get as many stations as with a rooftop antenna, but I
suggest something other than rabbit ears.  My son lives in an
apartment and faces AWAY from the broadcast antennas 18 miles away.
He has good HD UHF reception using an Antennas Direct DB2.  (Note:
rabbit ears are for VHF and most digital TV is UHF).

Another son lives in a condo.  His condo association allowed him to
install a roof antenna (at his own expense) and run the wiring to the
basement.  It terminates in a junction box 2 feet from the cable
junction box.  He and one other condo owner now are hooked to the free
antenna.  If several apartment owners got together, maybe the
apartment building will allow you to put an antenna on the roof.  Have
you bothered to ask??
