At our office building it's a male cardinal, and he's been coming and
pecking on the window of one of our conference rooms with his beak for
eight years.

Though I don't know how long cardinals live.  Last spring we were in
there having a meeting and sure enough the (rather dumb) cardinal came
and was banging his beak on the window and our president said, "you
know, I don't know which is scarier - if it's one bird coming back
each spring or if it's a multigenerational practice being handed
down."
