There is a setting in iTunes that controls the amount of "randomness" in 
the shuffle -- specifically, it's labeled as controlling the likelihood 
of hearing sequential songs by the same artist and/or from the same 
album.  I'm not sure if that setting carries over to iPods when they're 
synced with the computer.
