If the Dems run Blagojevich again for Gov in 2010, the Reps will probably 
win.  Assuming of course they can find a reasonable candidate -- they keep

running people ike Oberweiss, who managed to lose a special election for 
Hastert's seat that everyone thought was a gimme.

But a Rep gov is nothing new for Illinois, which is a pretty blue state. 
Before Blago, the last Dem gov was Dan Walker, who served from 1973 to
1977.

let's see.  Out of our last 5 govs, 2 have been convicted of crimes --  
Walker and Ryan, altho I think all Walker's crimes occurred after he was
no 
longer gov.  I'll be very surprised if Blago doesn't get convicted on 
something, although he wasn't called as a witness in the Rezko trial.

Who was in the jury pool for Rezko and was greatly relieved when she
wasn't 
called for stage 2 of jury selection.  (Not that it matters, really -- a 
week after the trial started I was in the hospital so they would have
ended 
up replacing me with an alternate anyway.)
