I don't know, you're probably eating less breadcrumbs than before...

My hair goes through stages of curliness that aren't related to
season/weather.  Maybe your hormones are changing in twisted, twisted
ways.

That's probably the reason.  Lactase doesn't help everyone, certainly.
I do have some lactose induction going on, and I do my best to
challenge the system regularly.

I have a good friend who was very sensitive for years, who seems to
have started inducing significantly more of the enzyme recently.  Go
figure.
