The people of Iraq were predicting that they'd have a democracy. If
that's true, then other nearby nations will be forced to continue
moving in that direction. If that happens, it could reduce the
pressure on the hopeless youth who bin Laden uses to kill
innocents.

You have people insisting that it's Reagan's fault that Islamic
whackos exist because Reagan sup****ted the effort to eject the
Soviets from Afghanistan. So they'd say that was bad policy. But
that policy was very instrumental in ending the Cold War.
