No one is tearing the party apart. This is a nomination process. The
idea of it being destructive is being created and echoed through the
MSM and blogosphere but has no basis in fact that I can see. It gives
a whole bunch of people the op****tunity to editorialize and snipe. 

There is nothing that either candidate can say or do about or to the
other that is not already in the planning stages to be used by McCain
and the right wing PACs. Any idea that HC or BO can come up with
something that they can't is ludicrous. 

People will have at minimum, 4 months of head to head competition and
their voting will be based on that, not the nominating process of the
Dems. No one is going to become damaged goods because of the
primaries. If they emerge seeming damaged, the weakness was there
already and was just hidden by Happy Dust.

If anything is gnawing at the party it is the wholly idiotic
conditions they put on the primaries. The Michigan and Florida fiascos
are proof of that. Had those states been allowed into play for the
candidates,  the nomination likely would have been sewed up by now.
And I don't mean they'd have been in Clinton' pocket, either, had all
candidates been allowed to go forward with campaigning.  Right now
they are on her side in some weird ways, though, and that makes it
even more foolish to pressure her to pull out.

My prediction is that if Obama can clinch before the convention,
suddenly, some means will appear to allow the MI & FL delegates to be
seated, as long as everything will ultimately sup****t Obama.

Yes, let it play out as it should. Neither candidate has a
mathematical clinch right now. When either one does, the other will
bow out of necessity. The SDs will decide it and they can do that at
any point in time. There is no need to ask her to fall on her sword.
She worked hard to get here and if she can't make it all the way, then
fine, but her quitting now doesn't seem in character. She's a tough
cookie. If Obama cannot withstand the competition right up until the
very end, that is a flaw in him, as it would be in her, were the
popularity contest leaning in her direction now.

The primary season has shown her remarkable strengths and his
remarkable weaknesses. Too bad her policies are so rightist and his so
yuppie.
