My mother once worked as a registrar (or third assistant to the
registrar's clerk or whatever-- the term "registrar" probably refers
to one person only) for Elections Canada.  Because she was well into
her sixties, she was assigned to getting registration information from
an assortment of people who could barely remember their own name.

When the election came, I think that they had a ****table polling
station that went around to these homes with all the necessary
officials, observers etc to guard the box that the bits of paper went
into.  But I don't think she was involved on the day of the election.
