Sullivan has been very loud and vehement against the idea of a dynamic
duo ticket, but changed his mind.  His readers are still screaming.

But back to your question.  

It's too bad that the Bloomberg rumours never panned out.

I'm not that familiar with most of the second tier players in US
politics unless they're spectacularly BAD at something.  So I'm blank
on why we should or should not like most of the following.

There have been a number of state-level women leaders suggested.  None
of their names have stuck with me.

(quick Google).  Sebelius was mentioned a lot for a week or so after
the SOTU speech as an Obama veep then vanished.



Surprisingly, Intrade / Trades****ts has no bets running on the
veepstakes.  They have a stack of endorsment bets, but no veep bets.
(Clinton is down to $9.20 for a $100 payoff as nominee, not even four
times Gore's $2.70)

For military experience, people have suggested Webb, Bayh or Clark.  I
have no image at all of Webb or Bayh and didn't like Clark.  One of
the commentaries I googled up claims that Webb's senate seat is too
im****tant to pull him into the white house.  (The same commentary also
rules out Napolitano to run for McCain's seat.)

I can't find the clip, but he publicly asked a 90-year old woman to be
his veep.  (Part of the by-play after she asked a question at a
rally.)

After the fad for Sibelius back in January, I haven't seen any
consensus developing at all.
