Quite possibly;  everyone handles grief differently, and many people 
seem to benefit from assistance in finding a way through it.

A counsellor may at least have a better idea than you or I do of how 
the trajectory works -- late February is still very, very recent, and 
this may be a stage she basically needs to go through.

Have you discussed with her how she feels she's handling it?  If the 
spells of grief aren't interfering with most of her life, that may 
turn out to be the way she deals with it.  If it's taking over her 
life, she could maybe benefit from talking it through with a neutral 
but knowledgable third party.
