Okay, there was this musical duo I know, that I really like, who were
performing in Columbia yesterday, which is only about 130 miles from where
I live, see? So, I had most of the day off, I left work at 3:30 pm, got
Cyndy, drove 130 miles to Columbia, saw the show, drove 130 miles back to
her place, let her off, drove back to my place, had a beer and a bowl of
Cheerios and fell into bed -- I was tired, you know? -- and I wake up
about
9 this morning and the news is saying we had an earthquake?
Happened around 4:37 am, epicentered in eastern Illinois, magnitude 5.4 on
the Richter scale -- whatever all that really means -- and it didn't wake
me up and nobody around KC on the various e-mail groups to which I belong,
or even on AFCA, has so far found it worthy of comment.
Are the seismologists sure? Couldn't, like, a really big space****p-truck
have gone rumbling by the earth really close? Or some idiot space
teenager
with the windows on his lowcosmosrider open and oversized subwoofers
blasting Ganymede gangsta rap?
