Kindly help me construct a list of situations where blame clearly
ought to be assigned, but where specific blame might be indeterminate.
I'll start with the example I once heard where John, Steve and Dave
were making their way through the desert. One night, John poisoned the
water in Dave's canteen in attempt to kill him. Steve, also plotting
Dave's demise, subsequently drilled a hole in Dave's canteen and the
water leaked out. Dave died of thirst, but if he'd drunk the water, he
would undoubtedly have been poisoned. Who's the blame for Dave's
death: John or Steve?
It doesn't really matter, of course. I'm just looking for scenarios
like this. Can you help me think of some, either well-known or not?
