Just read a news article, some local gas company added too much
Mercaptan to their natural gas, and got over 800 calls about gas
leaks!!
I don't quite understand this, where is the gas coming from if they
don't have a leak? What happens to the mercaptan when the natural gas
is burned? If the mercaptan can get out of the firebox, why can't the
carbon monoxide?
If I stand right in front of my furnace, I can smell a bit of the
"rotten egg" smell, but I don't have a leak.
I'm confused!
Thanks, all!
Mike
