Well, I said it was luxury.  We're not urban around here by any means, but
we
are in a depressed area.  Honestly, it depends on the family.  I do know
fanilies on food stamps who have a shed freezer.  I also know families in
food stamps who can never quite afford food but can buy plenty of liquor
and
cigarettes.

Our shed freezer was $299 new, 17 cubic feet,.  But it doesn't self
defrost.

I see them all the time on Freecycle, too.
