Music lyrics question

by Charlie Pearce <charlie.pearce@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 7, 2008 at 08:53 PM

I've just been listening to "Sunday Girl" by Blondie, and one line
from the section Debbie Harry sings in French caught my ear:

Dépêche-toi, dépêche-toi et attends...

That brought to mind the Sterephonics song "Hurry Up And Wait", and I
suppose what I really want to know is if that line (in either
language) was inspired by an earlier work, or if it was a phrase from
popular culture. Any ideas?

Charlie
