Observations on a Bad Week

1. So today I finally got my computer back. Thank ****ing God. I had a 
broken fan housing - not a broken fan - a broken fan *housing*. Lazy 
computer guy says this is exceedingly common - even here in Malone he has 
fixed "15 or 16" broken fan housings in the last few years. "Very common 
with that processor" - according to him.

I don't believe him.

But what the **** ever. It's fixed.

2. So I'm doing our New York State tax returns and it asked me if I had
any 
income related to "Nazi Persecution". Is that common on all state tax 
returns? Since when? Do a lot of people get income from that? I saw one of

those skinhead kids walking through the mall one time. Can I get paid for 
that?

3. So how do I know that Baby Jesus loves me? Because Peeps are half price

at the dollar store right now, that's how.

4. Lame Censoring of the Week: One of those knock off American Idol shows 
has a teen singing competition. One of the girls sang "Lady Marmalade" and

instead of singing "Voulez vous coucher avec moi, ce soir", she sang
"Voulez 
vous chantez avec moi ce soir." I think that makes the whole song lose
it's 
meaning.

5. From the "I *Must* be getting old" department: I wasn't aware until
this 
week what a "Bromance" was.

6. SAT QUESTION OF THE DAY:

The projected sales volume of a video game cartridge is given by the 
function s (p) = 3000/2p+a,  where s is the number of cartridges sold, in 
thousands; p is the price per cartridge, in dollars; and a is a constant.
If 
according to the projections, 100,000 cartridges are sold at $10 per 
cartridge, how many cartridges will be sold at $20 per cartridge?

     (B)  50,000
     (C)  60,000
     (D)  150,000
     (E)  200,000


7. The next thing I want to try is spinning my own yarn. I figure that 
there's enough goat and sheep and alpacas and stuff around here that I 
should be able to find someone willing to give me a little bit of hair to 
try out. I can't figure out though how sheep fur - which is relatively 
short - is made into long strands of yarn. I mean, my own hair is pretty 
long, but I still don't see how twisting a few strands of it together
would 
make a skein of yarn. How exactly does that work?
