Around here, supermarket price tags -- the ones attached to the shelves
below the product -- list price per unit (ounces, grams, litres,
whatever) so you can price-comparison-shop. For some things, I'm willing
to pay more for my brand of choice, but with others, it's strictly price
per unit. Even when I'm intentionally paying more, I check the price per
unit to find out how much more.
