I have this brilliant political insight and also, this really great
chicken recipe. Which shall it be, Passworthy? BOTH.
Recipe: This is the best quick chicken recipe EVAR.
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
3 Tbsp. veg. oil
10 oz white mushrooms, sliced thin (I used 16 ounces)
6 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1/4 cup basil pesto
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp. oil in
large skillet over medium-high heat until smokin'. Cook chicken til
golden brown, approx 3 minutes on each side. Transfer to plate and tent
with foil.
Add remaining oil to skillet and cook mushrooms until browned, approx 5
minutes. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, 30-60 seconds. Add
cream, broth, and chicken to skillet and bring to boil. Lower heat,
cover, and simmer til chicken is cooked through, approx. 15 minutes.
Transfer chicken to plate and tent with foil. (Yes, AGAIN). Return
skillet to high heat and simmer til sauce is thickened, about 5 minutes.
Off heat, stir in pesto and lemon juice and season with salt and
pepper. Serve.
I had some green beans (pardonMOI. Haricots vertes) and some brown rice
and the whole thing was just spiffy.
POLITICAL INSIGHT, IN THE FORM OF AN SAT QUESTION FOR THE WHITE MALE
ELECTORATE:
Blacks::Women as Alcohol::??
Answer: FOOD.
Yeah, see, I've been kind of extremely irritated at the differences
between the way Barack and Hillary are dealt with in the media, and I
decided it's partly because that for the white male media and electorate
and such, the thing is, you can take or leave black people -- I mean,
maybe you know some and you feel pretty good about that -- but if you
haven't got a chickie at home you're going to be depressed and irritable
and liable to vote the wrong way. You know how people who are dieting
say that it's easier to quit alcohol because you can just give it up
entirely? But you need food to live. So for straight males, women are
like food. You can't live with them, you can't simmer them in a
pesto-cream sauce.
That's my insight, and also my recipe. A nice Syrah goes well with
both.
