After the lamented departure of DEADWOOD, I felt sure I'd never find myself
working on anything that felt rich or intelligent again. (And indeed, the
first couple of jobs I had the next season were on shows notable for their
lack of either richness or intelligence.) But while it was no DEADWOOD by
any means, one show I worked on was a great pleasure and a quite
intelligent
thriller. It took paying attention, but I really enjoyed trying to follow
the ins and outs. Of course, ABC canceled it after five episodes. I was
in
almost every episode AFTER the fifth one. :-{
Anyway, the show just came out in its entire run on DVD, and I highly
recommend it. It's called DAY BREAK. It stars Taye Diggs and Adam
Baldwin,
and I've got one of the juiciest roles of my non-David Milch career. At
20
bucks for the whole series, it's a pretty good deal, too.
