There are various citrus-based label removers here in the US that work
wonderfully.  Goo Gone, CitraSolve, etc.  They don't damage the
plastic the label is stuck to.

If you can't find something like that, try peanut oil.  For all I
know, you can use any sort of light-weight oil, but it's always peanut
oil in this context,
