Greetings,
The director of my local community theatre has approached me about
possibly playing Buddy Holly in a stage musical the board is
considering for next season. I'm a pretty fair guitarist, and play in
a duo on weekends in the summer to make extra spending money, so I'm
not too worried about being able to play the tunes.
However, for his vocal mannerisms and his look, I'd like to do some
research, to try to get as close as I can. Can any fans still hanging
out in this group offer any suggestions? I'll probably be searching
for a box set or a greatist hits CD to work on preparation for the
songs, so I guess I'm mostly looking for websites with interview clips
or documentaries I can track down at the library.
I seem to recall that Gary Busey did a biopic on Buddy -- is that
regarded as an accurate portrayal around here?
