Buddy recorded this with just a guitar in his New York apartment in
early 1959. After Buddy died, Norman Petty added the backing. I think
he used the Fireballs but didn't actually have any violinists
available so he used a synthesizer. The original undubbed version is
available at least as a bootleg.
By the way - this news group doesn't seem to be the best place to post
questions. My question of 17 July about a possible new BH track hasn't
been answered or even commented on. Luckily I posted the question also
to another news group and I received an answer within a day, saving me
buying the CD only to discover that the listing was a misprint.
This Google group is very quiet ... is it always like this or is it
because of the long hot summer :-)
