I read about the threat of flooding in East Anglia just before going
to bed last night ...  it made me want to grab a bailing bucket and
jump on the next plane to England to help my Mum, who lives in
Lowestoft, one of the areas "under greatest threat".

I phoned her at the crack of dawn this morning ... she re****ted that
they were dry, although people under a mile away in Oulton Broad were
"most of the way up their wellies in water".

According to recent re****ts from the Environment Agency the tidal
surge missed coinciding with high tide by only a few minutes, with the
result that "utter devastation" was avoided.
