Friends Reunited is a pain in the patoot. It keeps sending me email
telling me there are new people there but none of them ever fit into
my schools during my years. Maybe this has something to do with the
fact that I was 10 when I left Scotland.

I never run into an old acquaintances anywhere, usenet, street,
whatever, except Facebook. I had been searching for one of those
people for years (off and on) but had no luck (fairly common name and
I had no idea where she lived any more. We lost touch when we both
moved at about the same time.) That alone makes Facebook worth it for
me. It's also good for keeping track of the younger generation, who
seem to like that kind of thing. This isn't to say I actually *like*
it, but it's less annoying than other sites I've looked at. Especially
now I've got rid of the ads. I just wish people would stop adding
those daft applications and sending out blanket invitations to
everyone on their friends list.

If someone starts a site called Arsebook, I will certainly give it a
look.
