Exeter's been largely rain free - the only bit I came across
was when I was driving past Bristol on the M5 last Tuesday. (80
miles north oe Exeter.) It was absolutely bucketting down. No
matter, the Gordano Services were only a couple of miles away -
I could wait out the storm there. By the time I reached the
services the rain had gone, so I decided to press on instead.
Big mistake. Less than a minute after passing the junction, we
got dumped on big time. There was no atmosphere as such, just a
vertical sea with slots. I could barely see the vehicle in front,
and I found myself aquaplaning a couple of times. I've driven in
heavy rain many times, but this was the first time I could say it
was truly frightening.

Stuart, big scaredy-bunny
