Well but it's very rude to accept a further offer after you've agreed to 
accept one - and strangely enough, I think the majority of sales go
through 
without any gazumping. I like the way that in the French system where you 
only need one lawyer, because the deal is assumed to be non-controversial.

One lawyer in any transaction is plenty!

What's this new painfulness where I need a lawyer and a search to 
remortgage...? In other words, to buy the house from myself.
