This is obviously a fake - The Sun I know and love would've had a
picture of the polish sausage, not the knife.

Mind you, the quote from a 'cop source' sounds spot on for that
serious purveyor of news : "We don’t know if he has a history of
mental illness, but he’s clearly not a well boy." 

And then everything becomes clear : "After controlling the blood loss,
doctors had to repair the blood supply and reanimate the tissue by
rejoining the arteries and veins under a microscope." - obviously it
wasn't big enough to meet The Sun's editorial minimum standards.

Unfortunately, I appear to have been diverted into the perusal of Page
3 Wallpaper options ... there goes the day ...
