Yup, still working.  I started as a contractor in Jan '04.  Got
seconded into another IT team in the August to cover somebody on
maternity leave for 3 months.  In the November, just as I was about to
go back to my old team the new team offered me a permanent job, which
I took.

Today at the company "Catch Up" meeting I was singled out for the work
I have done over the past three years (I've written several core
systems).  I won a £100 meal (presumably me and the missus).
Presumably we can go somewhere really upmarket.  Either that or we
could take a family of 6 to the Pizza Hut.  (Although not in
Folkestone because ours closed down a couple of weeks ago).

Things are certainly better than last time I was regularly posting
here.  I have a good job (earning about half as much again as previous
permanent job).  I've paid off my mortgage (although that was a result
of my nan dying, so that's not all good).  And I've got my girlfriend
back after a few years of being apart.
