There are merits in stating the obvious. It provides a good reference

It's not that gingery. However ginger is the only acceptable form of
ginger in my book. Gingerness in a person is totally unacceptable
behaviour.

Cream cheese. See, now that sums it up. Presumably "frosting" is what
is properly called "icing" and the only real form of icing doesn't
stick to your fingers, just your ribs. It's got to be hard and solid
and able to be used as an offensive weapon. Then you put a layer of
marmalade (to stop the brandy in the fruit cake discolouring the fat
layer of marzipan that comes next and an almost fatter layer of royal
icing on top.

Then eat until you can't eat any more. Remember to take the plastic
decorations off.

Any other form of decoration on a fruit cake is over-egging it.

I got one for my birthday. A proper M&S christmas cake. Which, given I
hate the new adverts, is lovely.

jam, sponge and marzipan.
