It could be worse... On a four hour flight from Paris to the Cape
Verde Islands back in 2000 no food or drink was offered at all.
My colleagues managed to sweet-talk a stewardess into serving
them champagne, but I declined as it would only provoke the
migraine I was nursing - a migraine that wasn't helped upon
landing by the news that a) my luggage was lost, and b) the trip's
organiser was not organised enough to get our visas in order.
Other airlines try too hard - on a thirty minute flight from
Montreal to Quebec [wocab] I was offered sandwiches, crisps,
fruit, and a carton of fruit juice.
