Hi Stuart!

If you count pistes with 40 m height difference between the top
and the bottom, then yes, there are pistes.  For relatively 
reasonable pistes you need to go up North, which is quite popular 
among Britons - a good idea for first-time skiiers, but for the 
others, why not go to the Alps?  It can be unreasonably cold in 
Lappland in winter, with no sun to speak of.   

In this context I should probably point out that the monsters who
achieved the impossible and led the country with what must be the 
worst track record in the history of the Eurovision song contest to
victory come from Lappland.  Or at least the initiator of the group 
does.
