I don't know what he puts in his coffee, bit when I was working in
Bangalore (southern India), the office Coffee Wallah would make coffee
and bring it to your desk at regular intervals, whether you wanted it
or not. It was made from hot milk rather than water.
One of my colleagues wasn't very keen on milky coffee, so he asked for
it without milk.
The next coffee he got was black, but flavoured with cardamom.
I gave it a try. It's excellent.
