Making Time April 2006 is now fully available. This is a folk rock month.
We
were also sad to learn of the death of Syd Barrett. Making Time recently
reviewed a DVD about Syd Barrett & Pink Floyd while the April issue
features
Joe Boyd's book about music in the 1960s which covers the early days of
Pink
Floyd.
CD review: Fairport Convention - Heyday: Some called Fairport Convention a
sort of English Jefferson Airplane. Certainly elements of their early BBC
Sessions suggest this but maybe that is not such a bad thing.
Book review: White Bicycles Making Music in the 1960s by Joe Boyd: Joe
Boyd
seemed to have a knack at being at the the most important places in the
mid
to late 1960s. He even came close to signing up Abba before the group
became
famous!
Bands added / major updates: Dusty Springfield / Fairport Convention
Band featured: The Bee Gees: Isle of Man to Australia and then back to the
UK, the Bee Gees made their name in the second half of the sixties.
