I think the question is really whether non-black blues is as good. I
think there's a strong case for saying that most of white America didn't
get Blues until the British ( bowled over by black American musicians
like Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson etc) brought it back to America in
white packaging. Of course that's not the whole story.
Well, I didn't see it as a black vs. white thing, I saw it as N. America
vs. other countries. That said, I'd put BB King above Clapton.
