Piching up on others, and the apparent rush of fairy godmother wish
granting that has gone on this year, the question has been raised, as to
what have we got to look forward to now?
Well here is what I still want...
1. A full and complete soundtrack. Is this even possible after Vangelis
pops his clogs, I wonder? Would anyone dare offer 2 CD's of Vangelis
music and still let "Ogi no Mato" and "Harps of the Ancient Temples" on
there? I Hope so, this was the music used in the film, so what if a
couople of bits did not come fromt he main composer, they are still part
of the score. It's a funny one, you do get movies that mix score and
artists tracts, but it's rare to see them together. Sometimes you get
the artists tracks with the main scores title track and maybe one or two
main themes, but you never do seem to get "non-bootleg" releases that
say "Hey bugger the licencing!"
2. Spinner model. I used to make model kits as a kid/teen/young adult,
and I still have a longing to make a Spinner. Now I've never been into
these "cottage industry" resin kits, all I've ever done is proper Airfix
type plastic models, so to date, I've never bothered with available
Spinner kits, as a solid lump of resin and a clear canopy does not a
model make! So I am still holding out that someone makes a 1:8 proper
kit of this that I can customise and light up ;-) It is a pet hate that
you can get model after model of the blaster, and even your fair share
of "figurines" including the new "singing in the rain" one, but Spinner
models have always come a very poor third.
