So – are there any deleted/alternate scenes that you liked, or could
even imagine to have in a cut of your own choices? I have two favorites:
– That brief shot before Pris is introduced, from up above down the
street, revealing that there is another level below. A rather simple
setup, but adding very effectively to the complexity of the city.
– Roy showing childish panic in that “elevator car” after he’s
killed Tyrell and J.F. Not necessarily the “mom” bit (that was probably
a bit too much) or the following business with that ID card, but the
beginning of that shot. It adds to the concept that Roy is both the
superhuman and the four-year-old at the same time. It also shows that
Roy does have moral conflicts about his deed. That brief shot remaining
in all other versions looks simply mannered to me (little more that the
visual equivalent of a “oops”), showing only the superhuman that defies
all morals.
