Iron Man is awesome. Probably one of Marvel's best first-installments
thus far. You know, Spider-Man was okay, followed by the amazing
(hardy har) Spider-Man 2; likewise with X-Men (let's not discuss the
third installments in either series). Hopefully this is the start of a
really good summer.
It's a fun summer-flick, tighter than Transformers and includes ample
humor that never slips into goofiness. It's ripe for at least a
trilogy. Great SFX, action sequences, and very faithful to the source
material.
I only have one minor complaint: Audi, God bless them, makes a great
car. Several, in fact. Sure, show me the R8 and the S5; they're
gorgeous and out of my paygrade. Really, though, going out of their
way to show the braking and acceleration capabilities of the Q7 is a
bit much. Goes to show that even after "I, Robot" their marketing
department still hasn't developed a sense of subtlety (but maybe
that's part of their gimmick).
Oh, and my screening included a newer, longer Indiana Jones trailer,
and I'm a lot more optimistic about it now.
