I'd heard that Vista is a real nuisance when it comes to licensing when 
playing music and videos.  I don't know the details, but it's about 
protecting the studios.  If Windows gets in bed too deep with them, 
they'll meet with resistance as people refuse the upgrade. A guy I 
worked with uninstalled his Vista.

But, as they Borg say, resistance is futile.  Eventually, MS will stop 
sup****ting the previous editions of the OS.  Lot's of businesses are 
still using the older software, and upgrading is cost prohibitive.  So 
we've got that.
