I wouldn't equate "more human than human" as "supermen" necessarily.

Sure, Leon has more stamina and a higher threshold of pain, for example, 
but he can't leap tall buildings or fly, and he can be shot and killed.

But I also think that applies to human flaws as well.  More likely to be 
subject to emotion instead of logic, along with a lack of self-control.
