Standing in the dark, rainy shadows of a city alleyway, I spied the

If I may say, this is somewhat of a circular argument (speaking
logically). Because you guessed the correct plot twist, it then
became obvious that that is what it was. And then logically, because
it was then obvious to you it is natural to deduce it was inherently
obvious. The fact that you've had a lot of people say to you that it
was not obvious to them, and probably many who didn't figure it out
before it was revealed, should at least make you consider that it was
not inherently obvious. Given your film interests, I would say you
were probably already amongst those likely to figure there even was a
plot twist long before it was actually suggested in the film.
What about Fight Club or The Usual Suspects? I can see why guessing
one film could make you sneer at that film, but sneering at the people
who didn't get it straight away reflects upon you in a negative way.
I didn't get around to seeing it until it was on telly, but hadn't
bothered to find out much about it. As I happen to find all of
Shyamalan's films rather irritating - this one included - I probably
wasn't paying full attention, but know the twist didn't occur to me
until they were at a party some way into the film and even then I
didn't "know" it.
