I too have a To****ba HD A3. I got it for $129 from Amazon. No tax
and no Delivery charge. So it cost me $129. I have been very happy
with it. It came with two HD DVDs in the box PLUS FIVE more for free,
just for the asking. Now SEVEN free HD DVDs, even if they may not be
your first choices, sounds like a pretty good deal to me, when you're
only paying $129 for the player in the first place! And then there is
the upconverting. I really don't know all the stuff about the new
HD tech, but I do know my SD DVDs look better. Yep. Great deal.
When Blu-Ray gets itself sorted out ... and cheaper ... I'll end up
getting one of them ... I'm looking for a new laptop, so may even get
one with that, but right now, I'm not desperate to pay the money for
it. I'm sorry that Sony muscled their way to win this war. I admire
To****ba management for making their decision to let it go and move on.
Oh, and I'm looking forward to a lot of HD DVDs on sale from now on...
