Ah, but Roy Batty has the best monologue in the entire movie (and one
of the better ones in the history of movies, IMO): "I've seen things
you people wouldn't believe. Attack ****ps on fire off the shoulder of
Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to
die."
Did you hear about Ripley Scott doing a small reshoot for this latest
edition? It's the scene where Zhora runs through all the plate glass
- in the original it's easy to tell it's a stuntperson. So Joanna
Cassidy (Zhora) agreed to come in, and they put her old Zhora make-up
(including s****s and wig) and costume back on (I guess she was pretty
excited the costume still fit, 25 years later). Then they reshot her
in front of a green screen at all the original angles, with the same
body movements. Then they replaced the stunt actor's head with
Cassidy's newly shot head. From what I've read on some websites, I
guess the new head matches up so well with the original footage that
you can't tell there was a change unless you look at before/after
shots.
(something I found amusing in IMDB's trivia section about this movie -
Joanna Cassidy was so relaxed around the s**** she had to handle
because it was her pet Burmese python, Darling)
