First off, Genom doesn't only make robots.  Roughly three out of four
cars on their world's streets are Genom-made, for instance.

Second, they're rich and powerful enough to have "bought" enough
politicians that they can avoid scrutiny.  (Note Leon's repeated
complaints about not being allowed to investigate Genom...)

Third, and most importantly, they're the Bad Guys in a Good Guys vs. Bad
Guys show.  Nothing's going to inconvenience them except for the Good
Guys - it's genre convention.  <g>

(As for what makes Boomers go beserk, sometimes it's on purpose.  See
OAV 3 for one example...)
