In my mis-spent years on this orb, I have learned many useless things. 1
of them was the illegal mixing of substances that were not harmless. We
blew up tree stumps w/ammonia nitrate fertilizer and diesel fuel long
before Okla. city. Another concoction was DMSO and whatever evil thing we
had. Extract of poison ivy was 1. It was the 60's and the use of car
bombs
led us to self protect. They used E. St. Louis for the background of the
movie "Escape From New York" because the real NYC wasn't bad enough.
True story. You live there and tell me it's changed.
What made me think was the DMSO. Sure, it's
at
least $60/bottle. That's enough to make most people slow down and think
before buying. But, as most Dr.s will tell you, it has a pain reliever
effect. That's why, in the late 60's, they used to swab your arm w/it
before giving you a shot. Then the drug companies got in the act and it
all but disappeared from this orb. However, it is available again. The
beauty of it is just a few drops rubbed into the skin and the pain of bad
knees, hips, fingers etc. are lessened if not gone for a few hours. I
recall getting it for a knee that got split open. Having keloid skin,
stitches were not my best option unless I wanted a permanent Halloween
grin on my right knee. So, since the stuff lasts from a few hours to 24
hrs., depending on the person and the pain, our limping Barry needs to do
some talking to the Dr. and a little computer research to see if he would
benefit from my wealth of ill gotten educational trivia.
